Welcome | Shannon Stonebrook

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade."

I've always loved that saying, as it demonstrates how much of an influence attitude can have on our life experiences. But the truth is that sometimes it can be difficult to be so optimistic.

Life isn't fair, and it isn't always easy. We all suffer at different points along the way, and we all experience struggles throughout the course of our lives. We can't control many of the things that happen to us, but we can control how we react to and cope with them.

Sometimes we need help with learning how to cope with challenges in a healthy way. Other times we may feel stuck in a situation, but have difficulty making changes for a number of reasons. And other times, we may just want to bounce ideas off of a neutral person who can objectively provide input and support.

Therapy, in my opinion, can be life-altering. It can be difficult, at times, and not always comfortable. But we grow by stepping outside of our comfort zones. And the outcome of good therapy—when there is a trusting relationship between client and therapist—is significant growth.

I am a solution-focused therapist with an emphasis on positive psychology, but pull from various complementary therapeutic techniques as needed. I help people manage the "problems of life" that we all commonly experience in a respectful, comfortable, and open environment.

I look forward to hearing from and meeting with you virtually or in my Oakmont office. Please call or send an e-mail to make an appointment.
